Transmission Removal and Refitting

Essential when major repairs or rebuilds are needed. We protect wiring, mounts and seals so it goes back right first time.

What the service includes

We remove the gearbox using manufacturer aligned procedures. We drain and assess fluid, inspect torque converter, cooler lines, mounts, harness, sensors and fasteners. All exposed openings are capped. On refit we renew seals, O rings, filter (where serviceable) and fill with correct spec fluid. Adaptions and basic settings are reset and a road test confirms smooth change quality.

Why it matters

  • • Prevents damage to loom plugs and fragile sensors
  • • Reduces contamination risk inside unit
  • • Ensures correct fluid level and pressure after refit
  • • Sets the base for a reliable rebuild or upgrade

Typical reasons

Removal FAQ

How long does it take?

Most cars same day for removal. If combined with rebuild timeline extends.

Do you supply recovery?

Yes we can arrange collection at fair rates.

Can I supply my own parts?

We prefer our trusted sources to protect your warranty.

Will you update me during work?

Yes we send updates or photos on request.

Remove now or keep driving?

Quick self‑check: delaying removal when internal damage exists multiplies cost (Prospect Theory).

Noisy bearings / metal flakes?

Confirmed metal = circulating debris. Removal & strip prevent valve body scoring and pump wear.

Internal components

Severe slip or no drive?

Continued operation overheats converter & warps steels. Early extraction preserves hard parts (Loss Aversion).

Planning performance build?

Removal now allows inspection + upgrade planning instead of reactive emergency later (Goal Setting & Planning).
