Precise mechatronic replacement and coding
Restore smooth shifts and correct clutch control. We supply, code, adapt and road test.

What we do
The mechatronic (valve body plus control electronics) is the brain of many modern automatic and dual clutch transmissions. When solenoids stick, pressure regulators fail or internal circuits fault you get harsh shifts, limp mode or no drive. We confirm the fault before fitting a replacement or repaired unit. We then code, carry out clutch and shift adaptions and complete a dynamic road test so the unit learns correctly.
Symptoms
- • Jerky or delayed shifts
- • Gearbox warning light
- • Stuck in one gear / limp mode
- • Clutch overheat messages (DSG)
- • Random neutral drop
Why act early?
- • Prevent clutch and gear wear from bad pressure control
- • Avoid complete loss of drive at a bad moment
- • Protect resale value with documented fix
- • Maintain safe shift timing for engine health
Why choose STA?
- • Proven diagnosis before replacement
- • Access to coding and adaption software
- • Quality sourced or OE units only
- • Clutch kiss point and shift adaptions performed
- • Road test with live data logging

Mechatronic FAQ
Can it be repaired instead?
Some faults can be repaired economically. We advise after testing.
How long does replacement take?
Usually same day if parts in stock.
Will it need adaption driving?
Yes we run guided adaptions so it learns correct values.
Is fluid changed?
We top up or renew where required by manufacturer spec.
Replace now or wait?
If the control unit is failing, waiting risks clutch pack & gear damage. Quick questions to assess urgency.
Is limp mode appearing more?
Repeated limp triggers = degradation accelerating. Early action prevents collateral wear.

Shifts inconsistent warm?
Heat exposes pressure faults. Intermittent harsh / soft pattern signals regulator decline – repair before slip counts spike.
Planning engine tune?
A weak mechatronic + extra torque = early failure. Replace first to build reliable performance foundation.
